Western Middle School Cross Country Teams Place High At Division 2 Regional The Western Middle School Boys Cross Country Team placed third while the Girls Team finished fifth at the Division 2 Regional Cross Country Meet at Milan on Tuesday. Joshua Irvin (7th) took second place overall in the Boys Varsity Race and was the leading point-getter for the Panthers. Irvin ran a Personal Best time of 11:25.9 for the 2-mile race. Nine of the ten Western Boys racers finished with Personal Best times. Owen Bradley (6th) finished 11th overall with a Personal Best time of 11:51.6. Wesley Nierer (8th) took 17th place with a time of 12:16.6, also a Personal Best. Titus Clanton (8th) and Brian Humphrey (8th) rounded out the scoring for Western taking 32nd and 34th places respectively. Clanton ran a Personal Best time of 12:39.9 while Humphrey also ran a Personal Best at 12:42.5. The Western Boys totaled 92 team points, just four points behind second place. The Panther Ladies were led by Laila Rotich (8th) who finished 8th overall with a Personal Best time of 13:07.1 Adalynn Newton (8th) and Abigail Jacobson (7th) claimed 21st and 32nd places respectively. Newton ran a Personal Best time of 13:52.8 while Jacobson also posted a Personal Best with a time of 14:43.6. Hayden Blanchard (6th) and Kylie Burroughs (7th) finished the scoring for the Western Girls. Blanchard took 43rd at a Personal Best time of 15:53.1 while Burroughs finished 47th with a Personal Best time of 16:24.5. In the JV Race, Logan Koch (6th) took second place overall with a Personal Best time of 13:18.2. Hunter Riska (6th) came in 6th in the same race with a Personal Best time of 13:29.5.
