JV Football Defeats Marshall

The JV football team traveled to Marshall to take on the Red Hawks Thursday night. In a highly contested I-8 battle. The Panthers scored first on a 10 yard pass from Ethan Harris to Christian Johnson. Jacob Kubish provided the extra point, putting the Panthers up 7-0. Marshall answered back and made the 7-7 after the first quarter. In the Second quarter after a 30 yard punt return by Jett Archer, Harris connected on a 15 yard strike to Archer, and Kubish hit the point after to put the Panthers back on top 14-7. But again, Marshall answered the bell and the score was tied 14 14- at the half. Marshall scored first in the 3rd quarter, but missed on the conversion Kick, putting Marshall up 20 -14 going into the 4th quarter. Next up Harris connected with Christian Johnson again, from 30 yards out, putting the Panthers up 21-20. The stubborn Red Hawks bounced back and scored, but missed on the 2 pt conversion. Putting Marshall up 26- 21. On the following Kick off, Carter O'Connell took the return 80 yards to the Marshall 5 yard line. Harris rushed for the last score of the night. Putting the Panthers up 27-26. On the following drive by Marshall, Arrence Kindred had a biig play, breaking up pass on 3rd down, and on 4th down, Nathan Chapko made a huge play meeting the runner a yard short of the yard to gain and driving him back, giving the ball back to the Panthers for the win... Dom Galloway had a big game on both sides of the ball, and had a sack and caused a fumble that was recovered by Lyric Robbins toward the end of the game. Liam Bryant, Lyric Robbins and Jacob Kubish also led the defensive charge up front. Great job Fellas...
