Western Middle School Cross Country Teams Improve at Jackson Invitationals Both Western Middle School Cross Country Teams had their best outings of the season at the Jackson Invitational at Ella Sharp Park on Friday. The Western Boys took sixth place in a field of 27 teams with 221 team points. Joshua Irvin (7th) placed 13th overall, finishing with a personal best time of 11:45.8. Wes Nierer (8th) also posted a personal best time at 13:02.8 and finished 54th overall. Titus Clanton (8th) and Liam Rivera (8th) each ran season best times. Clanton finished 65th at 13:15.0 and Rivera took 68th place at 13:20.7. Brian Humphrey (8th) ran a personal best 13:41.2 to finish 86th, his first time scoring for the Panthers this season. For the Panther Ladies, Laila Rotich (8th) led all Western runners by finishing 20th with a time of 13:24.7. Adalynn Newton (8th) took 58th place with a time of 14:47.8 while Abigail Jacobson (7th) came in 78th place with a time of 15:41.4. Kylie Burroughs (7th) and Addison Benner (6th) both ran personal best times to round out the scoring for Western. Burroughs finished 126th at 16:58.0 while Benner claimed 163rd at 18:26.0. The Western Girls team finished in 11th place on the day.
