The JV volleyball team competed in the SAU Invite Saturday. The Panthers excelled during pool play with an impressive 8-0 record. During pool play Western faced Napoleon, Homer, Michigan Center and Jackson High. Western was seeded first in their pool and was matched against Lumen Christi who was seeded 2nd in their pool. Unfortunately, the short break between pool play and bracket play did not do any favors for the Panthers. Western came out flat during our first game of the semis loosing to Lumen Christi 13-25. Western improved during set two and was able to take the win 25-18. However, western could not match Lumen’s energy and movement and ultimately fell during set three 13-15. Western will be back on the court Wednesday in a home match against Marshall.
