The Western Volleyball team traveled to Coldwater High School on Saturday to compete in the Freshman tournament. The Panthers started off strong against Paw Paw defeating them 25-7, 25-21 in the first match of the day. Next they would face off against an aggressive Schoolcraft team but would come away with the win 25-20, 25-15. The team was 4-0 going into their final match in pool play against the other undefeated team, Jension. The Panthers struggled with communication, passing and serving that would lead to their defeat, 14-25, 12-25. Western came out 2nd in pool play but unfortunately the struggles continued in the final match of the day against Tecumseh who was 5-1 on the day. The Freshman team would place 4th at the invitational losing to the Indians, 12-25, 14-25.
