Western hosted Northwest Thursday for their home opener. The Panthers struggled in the beginning of the first set giving the Mounties a big lead, despite fighting back towards the end they still fell 18-25. With improved mindsets Western came out hot in the second set with strong serving, solid defense and aggressive offense giving themselves a big lead and ending the set 25-11. In the final deciding match the Panthers were determined to come out on top, keeping the same energy as the second set they were able to take the third set 15-9 giving them the overall win! Next Western will travel to Pennfield Tuesday (9/15), go Panthers!
