Western JV volleyball hosted Pennfield for their first conference match of the season. The Panthers got a slow start in the first set with an early 5 point deficit and struggled with serves. However, Western slowly started to come alive and chip away at Pennfield’s lead. In the end, we didn’t have quite enough time and lost the set 20-25. Set two proved to be another come from behind attempt as we found ourselves down by 12 points halfway through the set. Western didn’t give up and again kept fight back point by point. The Panthers ultimately fell to Pennfield 18-25. Our team played good defense, especially in the middle of the court and overcame many obstacles throughout the evening. They never gave up and kept working hard the entire match. Next up, the Panthers will travel to Quincy on Saturday.
