Parma Western boys varsity soccer traveled to Otsego Tuesday night and came away with a convincing 5-0 victory. Western controlled possession from the opening whistle and broke through about 10 minutes into the match when sophomore Wyatt Bell struck a long-range effort from more than 25 yards out that sailed just over the goalkeeper’s hands to open the scoring. About 10 minutes later, sophomore Peyton Munz doubled the Panthers’ advantage, finishing from close range to send Western into halftime with a 2-0 lead. The Panthers made some tactical and formation adjustments at halftime and quickly picked up where they left off. Just minutes into the second half, Bell found the back of the net again for his second goal of the night and a 3-0 Western lead. Senior Eli Parker continued his impressive start to the season, scoring his third long-range goal in as many games to make it 4-0. Western was able to get all 21 eligible players into the match, and freshman call-up Ethan Robinson rounded out the scoring with a long-range chip over the Otsego goalkeeper for his first varsity goal, sealing the 5-0 victory. Western returns home Thursday to take on Plymouth Christian Academy.
